Abstract EN
This study attempts to test the steadfastness of the Zionist narratives, adopted by the novelist Amos Oz in his claim to the legitimacy of the Jewish state, its brutal practices towards the Palestinians in the face of the tools of postcolonial analysis, and the dismantling of the discourse that underlies our study.
The paradox in Oz's work is that he is incapable of reconciling explicit positions and contradictions; on the one hand, he writes according to an orientalist perspective based on reducing and diminishing the other, weakening his voice to facilitate his hegemony.
On the other hand, he criticizes the practices of the Zionist policy by denouncing its intransigence, and sometimes showing his sympathy towards the oppressed Palestinian victims.
The study concluded that Oz had fallen victim to the villain consciousness in Western and Jewish thought.
The suffering of the Jews and their persecution in Europe made him advocate an unjust cause that was incompatible with his convictions and principles of struggle.
