This study deals with role of UAE legislator in providing legal protection to children against online sexual exploitation.

with this end in view, the study sets forth childhood age according to uae law, and provides a definition for child sexual exploitation.

it also throws the spotlight on the online pornographic content targeting children and the legal protection provided by uae legislations to children.

study reached a host of findings, major among them were that: online child sexual exploitation is among the adverse impacts of technological advancement witnessed nowadays, and that many cases of child sexual exploitation are not reported by families, partly for fear of tarnishing the reputation of the child, and due to that trials are non - confidential.

among the findings is also that whoever found guilty in child sexual abuse offences is prohibited by law from joining any job involving direct contact with children.

recommendations of the study included the confidentiality of trials; the need for highly trained investigators and revitalization of international cooperation in this regard.
