Abstract EN

The research “The Authority of the Text and the Text of Authority in the Arabic Poetry" the poem's "Addalia" rhythm pattern for Duraid ibn Al-Summa (a model) is based on a dualism that influences the poetical discourse as a whole.

The creativity of the poet either stems from an authority that is imposed on him from outside the self, whether or not he is convinced with it, or from inside the self; where the innovator in his poetry moves from the self to the subject; especially in reference to personal issues.

This is reflected in description or with what is a related human issue and so on.

This research focuses on the poem's "Addalia" rhythm pattern for Duraid ibn Al-Summa, which skillfully incorporated these two authorities together (the text of the authority and the authority of the text).

In one part of the poem, he expressed himself, his sufferings due to the death of his brother, and his wife's disdain for that.

In this way, he personified the tragedy of death.

In another part of the poem, he revealed the integration of the self with the tribal authority, as if it were the identity of the poet who could not escape such integration.

This type of poetic discourse was well represented by the tribal poetry where the ego merges with the (other/tribe).

The authority of the text is, therefore, established.

The authority here might be tribal, political authority, state, religious, sectarian, partisan or others.
