Abstract EN

Qur’anic inscription has many features with numerous interesting matters.

The Ottoman inscription is an important field of study through which many aspects of Qur’anic inscription can be revealed.

This paper studies the edging hamzah (glottal stop) that is scripted over the conjunction particle waw, instead of the alif letter, as the case should be in standard Arabic grammar.

The study reveals numerous problems that cab be understood from this method of inscription.

The paper reveals numerous findings that demonstrate the extent of the companions' accuracy in recording the Qur’an.

It shows why they scripted the edging hamzah in a way that is different from what was supposed to be in some verses of the Qur’an only and not throughout the Qur'an.
