كل و كلا و كلتا : دراسة لغوية تأصيلية في ضوء اللغات السامية

Abstract EN

The research aims to study the structure of(kull ,kila ,kilta ) by investigating their linguistic etymology in the Semitic languages.

It will also look at the phonetic changes that these words have undergone through their history and how these changes are governed by the common phonetic and morphological rules in Semitic languages.

The study will shed light on the semantic meanings of these words whenever that is needed to serve the purpose of this study.

The study has reached many results, the most important of which are that the root of (kull) in the Proto-Semitic language is probably is as following:(alkaf) and (allam) and (alhamzah) (kala>a), because most the of the Semitic languages has kept (alhamzah), and this is the old origin.

However, there is a probability that (kila) is the form of the word (kull) that is indexical of the masculine dual noun and (kilta) is the other form that is indexical of the feminine dual noun.

Moreover, (alalif) in this word is used to signal the dual form and the (atta>) signals the femininity.

There is no doubt that the words that end with (atta>), which is preceded by sukun, is one of the remains of this old Semitic phenomenon, and except for Arabic, there are much more examples of it that can be found in other Semitic languages.
