Abstract EN

In this article, we try to present the most important functions of commercial banks, which represent to finance and mobilize bank savings by pooling the surplus of the untapped economy and re-using it through bank financing, which makes it a new impetus for the economy, then, in the second phase, the relationship between these two functions was attempted by examining the impact of credit and some other determinants on Algeria's bank savings over the period 2000-2016.

the study concluded that there is a strong relationship between bank credit and the size of bank savings during the study period, ie credit affects the levels and changes of bank savings in commercial banks in Algeria.
