Political Research Center (Think tanks) in the United states are a distinct intellectual and political phenomenon, Its course of action has focused primarily on the dissemination and promotion of ideas are the level of public opinion and political elites, which have formed pressure forces in some of many cases that effect the interests of political decision- makers.

After the end of cold war, its structural and financial capabilities have developed in to solid institutions, and was able to influence the highest decision- making centers to play an active role in it after the work was limited to providing expertise and advice only.

The Center for strategic and international studies (CSIS) is one of the center that have become part of decision- making process, especially at the level of foreign policy, as the participated through its proposals which was characterized by a deeper intellectual vision and an awareness in the drawing of many of the strategic directions, giving the decision- maker a variety of options that contributed to renewing his strategic priorities to serve the highest US interests.
