الخصائص السيكومترية لاختبار بيتا-4 للذكاء غير اللفظي لطلبة الفئة العمرية (16-18)‎ على عينة من المجتمع السعودي

Abstract EN

This research aimed at identifying the psychometric characteristics of BETA-4 non-verbal intelligence test on a Saudi society sample aged (16-18) years old.

The sample of the research consisted of (380) male and female students were chosen in a cluster random way.

The results referred that the test had a reliability coefficient of (0.79), but the validity was studied along with BETA III.

The correlation coefficient between domains ranged between (0.49 -0.82) and (0.85) for the total degree of the test.

As for factorial validity, the results showed that there are two factors to measure which are (non-verbal inference) and (processing speed) and this gets along with the original study.

The analysis showed that pictures completion, contrary pictures and matrixes inference saturated on the first factor and interpret (51.8%) of the total variation.

Coding and checking matching saturated on the processing speed and interpreted (37.7%) of the total variation; the two factors interpreted (89.6%) of the total variation.

There were no effect for gender and age on intelligence level as measured by BETA-4 test.

It was found that the sample frequent distribution of intelligence degrees doesn't differ from their normal distribution.

The results assured that the test is valid to be applied through investigating its psychometric characteristics and performance criteria.

The researcher concluded to some recommendations as follows: Applying the scale on different samples of students according to different achievement levels to identify intelligence variation among students due to achievement variable.
