The study aims to identify the nature of the relation between metacognition skills and academic achievement at the high school, where the the study sample consisted of (264) male and female students from the level of the third year at the high school and to collect datta used the scale of metacognition skills which prepared by the reseacher, and after statistical analysis the study showed the following results : -there is a correlation between the metacognition skills and academic achievement .-there is no differences in metacognition skills at high school students according to gender.

-there is no differences in metacognition skills at high school students according to specialization.
