Abstract EN

The present study aimed to identify the effect of the reciprocal teaching strategy on the acquisition and retention of mathematical concepts among the average third grade students in AlQurayyat Governorate in Saudi Arabia.

The study sample consisted of (50) students, divided into two experimental groups (26) The number of (24) students.

The study used the experimental approach.

To achieve the objectives of the study, an educational material in Linear Equations Unit was prepared based on reciprocal teaching procedures, in addition mathematical concepts test.

The results of the study showed that there were statistically significant differences in the scores of the students on the test of the acquisition of mathematical concepts at the level of significance (0.05 = α) and in favor of the strategy of cross-teaching.

And for the benefit of the experimental group, that is, the students of the experimental group retained the mathematical concepts acquired in the unit of linear equations when exposed to mutual teaching, The study recommended the use of reciprocal teaching in mathematics lessons rich in basic mathematical concepts, which the student relies on in subsequent years.
