Abstract EN

This paper deals with the subject of the death in the Frankenstein novel in Baghdad by Ahmed Saadawi as a model of the contemporary Arab novel.

It aims to discuss problematic the city's death in the novel, in its symbolic signification of the disintegration of the historical and existential relationship between the novel and the city.

The result, This disintegration will be the reason for the retreat of the city from its historic commitments to security, stability, social welfare and the sovereignty of the values of rationality, self-determination and freedom.
