Abstract EN

This research aims to recognize about the history and methods and uses of the bass guitar in Sudanese music and, the research also aims to know more about the ways and methods of arranging and bass composing according to the Sudanese composers, beside to recognize the Sudanese bass pioneers the research followed the descriptive method (content analysis).

The most important results of the research: the bass guitar using as rhythmic and melodic and harmonic instrument in Sudanese music then a most of composers they leave the progressions of playing the bass lines to the mood of the bassists with using a dominated spontaneous playing (Juggling).

Main Recommendations: the researcher presented some of recommendations related to teaching the bass guitar as additional major for the Double bass students in high levels encourage the students of composing and song writing to use the contemporary harmonics to get the befit of the counterpoint ways of the bass guitar in the Sudanese music to avoid the writing of figured bass as well as to pay attention to Harmony and Sudanese music subjects.
