Abstract EN

This paper addresses the issue of the universally acknowledged “State of the Art” creative production evaluation principles and measures particularly in the fields of Plastic Art, Music and Drama disciplines and compares such principles and measurements to the Sudan University of Science and Technology academic staff promotions by-laws (2012).

Besides, the paper criticizes the criterion of equalizing creative production value judgment to scientific empirical evaluation.

Combination of Descriptive Analytical and Record Linkage research method used.

The paper also defines the terms “Fine” and “Applied” Arts and clarifies the differences between them and the role of each in society.

Further it points out the limitations of SUST’s promotions by-laws and their jeopardizing impact on the college of Fine and Applied Arts staff members creative production to conform to ”State of the Art” standards.

To solve this problem, the paper sets adequate fair creative production principles and measurements that conform to both “State of the Art” and SUST’s academic staff promotions by-laws.
