Abstract EN

This paper addresses the issue of religious coexistence and peace in Ethiopia, in the context of religious pluralism (Islam, Christianity, pagan Judaism), and ethnic and linguistic pluralism.

the main argument of the study is that, despite this pluralism, Christianity as a minority is and still is the predominant religion of the Muslim majority, the Jewish minority and the pagan.

this led to the complexity of the crisis of religious coexistence and social peace in the country.

moreover, we find that the link of religion to race led to the existence of religious-ethnic conflict, as in the case of constant tension between Christian-Amharic-Tagarawi with the rest of the components of Ethiopian society.

using the descriptive-analytic method, observation and fieldwork, the researcher found it difficult to apply the ethno-linguistic, ethnocentric and ethnocentrism that may complicate the crisis of peace and religious coexistence, as well as the continuing tension between the center and the regions on administrative and developmental rights, or the separation of regions on ethnic and religious grounds.
