Abstract EN

The paper generally aims to review the environmental pollution resulting from the poor or unhelpful use of agricultural pesticides and to highlight their negative effects on humans and the surrounding environment in Sudan.

The sub-objectives were to study the risks of the use of agricultural pesticides in various agricultural operations in the Dongola region in the northern state.

These risks seriously threaten the environment, health and economic activities of the population in this region.

The reasons for choosing this topic are the growing prevalence of a number of diseases in the region such as cancer and kidney failure, In this context, the study attempted to identify or investigate the negative effects of pesticides on farmers in the region by analyzing data from questionnaires about their unhelpful use of these pesticides and their behavior towards them.

The main purpose of this paper is to clarify the role of agricultural extension and other official bodies in reducing the risks arising from the use of pesticides among these farmers in terms of effectiveness or lack thereof.

The paper has reached a number of results, the most important of which The increase in the negative health effects of pesticides among farmers due to several reasons, mainly the lack of interest in the use of protective clothing and As well as the lack of interest in disposal of empty containers after the use of pesticides left on the farm.

Accordingly, the paper proposed a number of recommendations, most notably the strengthening of the efforts exerted by the agricultural extension and other bodies in raising awareness of the dangers of the unhelpful use of pesticides among farmers and urging them to take care of the necessary precautions before and after the use of pesticides.
