Abstract EN

The present study aims to exploring the role of counseling centers in parent- children's problem programs at three main areas (reality, difficulties, and development) from the viewpoint of the female clients.

The study based on the social survey and case study methods.

It examined a sample of (50) mothers who attend a parental program at counseling center in Jeddah city, chosen by the intentional sample method.

The study tools consisted of questionnaire and interview.

The results of the study indicate that the most prominent information provided was the methods of encouraging behavior and expression of feelings of love for children, while information about skills Co-education of children between spouses is the least from the viewpoint of the mother’s sample.

As for the difficulties were the counselor, and technical, spatial equipment of the centers.

The proposed development methods related to the role of community institutions focused on spreading the importance of the role of the social consultation centers, followed by the development methods of the technical and spatial equipment of the centers, and finally the development methods associated with the skills of the counselors.
