Abstract EN

This research focused on monitoring the compliance with human rights and freedoms on the global level in the light of the mechanisms that the International Community has established to watch the countries’ implementation of their commitment to the protection of human rights and freedom.

Global mechanisms include those with global jurisdictions that are responsible for international monitoring and supervision of human rights protection in the UN member states; key bodies within the UN, sub¬entities, and finally the specialized agencies.

Regional organizations opted for the establishment of similar monitoring and supervisory mechanisms to keep an eye on human rights conditions in their member countries.

However, the scope of this research is limited to the UAE; therefore, it highlighted the mechanisms of the Arab League and GCC Human Rights Office.

The other side of human rights global protection lies in the contractual mechanisms that have been divided in this research into two parts: International Contractual Mechanisms and Regional Contractual Mechanisms.

International contractual mechanisms are represented by the committee that was created by virtue of human rights international conventions, whereas regional contractual mechanisms are limited to Arab Human Rights Committee.
