Abstract EN

This study aims to stress the importance of digital printing development in Sudan, and to inform the printing market about its problems, implications and consequences.

it also aims at finding solutions to improve the quality of prints by reducing its defects.

the study hypotheses is based on the following: despite the availability of digital printing technologies in the local market, the quality of most executed printed works are of low quality.

the researcher utilized the analytical descriptive approach and the comparative approach to collect data through both observation and interviews.

the results of the study indicate that controlling the correct procedures of digital printing systems, improves the quality of publications and reduces the waste of materials consumed.

in addition, addressing the disadvantages of digital printing has a great effect of achieving the sufficient quality required in offset printing.

the study recommends conducting more research studies to address the disadvantages of digital printing in Sudan in general.

it also suggests controlling the temperature and relative humidity within the limits of the permissible in offset printing.

correct storage control for the consumable materials (paper, ink, solvents, moisturizing solutions) should be observed, because many of the problems are caused by storing of raw materials for long periods in stores that do not meet specifications.
