Abstract EN

This study aims to disclose the role of the meaningful color and its effect to understand the expressive and intellectual substance in the contemporary Sudanese ceramic, to make use of it in enriching expression process and artistic taste.

this study has adopted analytical and descriptive approach as a tool to describe the samples under the study.

the hypnoses are limited to, the color in the works of the ceramic artist (Salih Alzaki ) has expressive and artistic values.

the Sudanese ceramic art is contemporary as the modern fine art trends.

the problem of the study concentrates on the color as a fine item in the ceramic art, it has the various meaning according to belief, values, cultures, customs and tradition.

the results stem from the selected works of the ceramic artist (Salih Alzaki Salih), they reveal expressive dimension and variety of meanings through the color.

also, it discloses that he is influenced by the inheritances through employing them in a group of color meanings.

the study has recommended conducting further studies on color meaning and shape of the contemporary Sudanese ceramic artists.
