Abstract EN

This study aimed at revealing the effects of thulth calligraphy in promoting the aesthetic values of tugraa mark by showing the characteristics which make it the most appropriate in tugraa designing.the research adopted the analytic descriptive and historical methods as they are suitable for the nature of the problem, by selecting two samples of tugraa which the researcher wrote in (dewani, ruqa'a, persian, naskh and kufi calligraphies), as represented in the tugraa of sultan abdelhameed khan bin abdelmajeed, and the tugraa of sultan Mohammed khan bin abdelmajeed to reveal the standard image of each calligraphy and its relation with the text consistency within tugraa design then the ultimate conclusion of the sample which is represented in showing the weaknesses and shortcomings linked with designing process and identifying and determining the reasons and causes which make it not matching the nature of tugraa's design and then compare it with the thulth calligraphy which comes on the top in comparison with the other calligraphies as far as tugraa's design is concerned.
