Abstract EN

Cohesion and coherence are considered as basic notions on which text linguistics was founded, for the role they play in setting texture on both levels of deep and surface structure.

A text can never be a text if one of them is missing .

In this paper, we try to analyze one textual aspect which is the cohesion.

According to Halliday and Ruqaiya Hassan, cohesion may be realized by: Grammatical items and by lexical items, thus we have grammatical and lexical cohesion.

The last type of cohesion is set by reiteration and Collocation.

This paper focuses on lexical cohesion, in order to unvail its importance in structuring texts.

The selected corpus is from the poetic collections Luzumyat Mohammed Laid Aal Khalifa.
