Abstract EN

Sahifah Sajjadiyyah is a valuable collection of Imam Sajjad’s prayers, and it is really important from different religious and literary aspects,one way to discover their underlying meanings and messages is using linguistic theories and semantic domains.

This article tries to express and explain the semantic domain of generosity in Sahifeh Sajjadiyeh based on the semantic field theory in the light of semantics.

In the examination of semantic domain of generosity, the word ‘ata’ has been mentioned as the unmarked word and the words ‘Ehsan’, ‘Bazl’, ‘Jud’, ‘Refd’, ‘Karam’, ‘Hebah’, ‘Fazl’, ‘Nafl’, ‘Nemat’, and ‘mann’ have been mentioned as the marked words.

To collect the data of this study, the analytical descriptive method and library research method have been used, and the terms have been examined based on dictionaries, then the semantic relations between them have been analyzed.

The result of this study shows the principles of sharing and differentiating of the terms having the same domain, and this shows the creative choice of Imam Sajjad (peace be upon him).
