Abstract EN

It should be said about the birth of Arabic novel that it is entangled with the political, social and cultural circumstances of Arabic countries, especially Egypt.

According to literary critics, the beginning of writing novel in Egypt and the Arab world is 1913, i.e.

the year in which the novel of “Zainab” of Mohammad HossainHaykel was published.

NajibKilani, poet, literary critic and one of the modern inventive Egyptian novelists, has authored the most Arabic – Islamic novels.

In this dissertation, first of all, infrastructure and superstructure elements have been defined.

Then these elements have been looked up and analyzed in the novel.

This research is important and essential because it paves the way for reader to get familiar with the intellectual world of the author more and better by focusing on the presented issues and feel well the effect of the socio-political conditions of that time in the above-mentioned novel.

The method of research is descriptive-analytical with the use of librarial sources and tools.

It has been strived to answer this main and general question that what is the status of the novel “The Heroes of the North” of NajibKilani in the Muslim world according to superstructure and infrastructure? The result of the research shows that the writer begins the story from the first person angle of view with introduction of “Othman Amino”, the hero of the novel, and in his own words.

The most part of the novel is in prison.

The topic of the novel is about the struggles of Nigerian Muslims - 1965 to 1970 - against Crusader-Zionist colonialists’ plots against Nigerian Muslims.

Apart from political motif, the novel of the Heroes of the North has a moral motif, too and the writer states many moral messages by the characters of the fiction.

This novel is based on open plot and the natural disposition of its events prevail its artificial and conventional disposition.
