English Abstract

Economic history study and its effects in Arab home land has received great attention of many researchers and academics, because of the essential importance of the economy in human life.

This study comes to support this tendency.

It sheds light on an important stage of Egyptian economic history during the British mandatory period which started in 1914 and ended in 1922.

During this period, the Egyptian economy has been exposed to many different changes which had bad sequences on Egyptian society.

All Egyptian economy has been subjected to military British authorities during the first world war (1914-1918) to serve the British colonial interests while neglecting the essential Egyptian interests.

This fact has resulted in the break- out of 1919th Egyptian revolution.

After the end of the revolution, the Egyptian economy started to restore its health gradually in different sectors: financial, agricultural, industrial and commercial.

The foundation national Egyptian Bank in 1920 had a great role in saving the Egyptian economy from foreign dependency.
