Abstract EN

This study aimed at exploring the factors that have constributed to make the bulding of pyramids and temples so unique in the merowe civilaization, this study was meant to ducment this art, the description and analysis of murals that were attached on the walls of temples and pyramids were carried out, the significance of this study stems from the fact that it highlighted the merowetic civilization focussing on the art of temples and pyramids, some precise information on the sources of inspiration in the art of temples and pyramids have been explained, the factors that have made the building of pyramids and temples unique have been investigated.

the descriptive analytical methods as well as the historical methods have been used, observation was used as tool for data collection, the study concluded that merowetic kings paid attention to architecture and varied forms of art, many temples were built that were decorated with murals and drawings, the lives of kings were documented, and their thrones were protected against the greedy.

the murals works that were accomplished during merowetic era were typically Sudanese, were characterized with standards and high artistic and aesthatic values that are still sourse of inspiration.

the study recommended that further studies should be conducted on the reasons that characterized merowetic temples and pyramids to be so unique, murals and the art in merowetic civilization should be documented, centres concerned with merowetic studies should be set up, and schoolers should be encouraged to publish studies on merowetic art.
