Abstract EN
In the 16 th century, Tambouctou and Gao enjoyed the same benefits as other cities in West Africa.
The two main factors that made the two cities flourish were the evolution of the educational movement and the large number of scholars, making it a huge gathering of students coming from different regions of West Africa.
Thus, the two cities contributed to the spread of Islamic culture in the western Sudan plains, and turned into two centers for the dissemination of Islamic sciences in the Islamic world, and resulted in the public spirit of the population and live in a good conditions.
