Abstract EN

This study aims to detect the intermediate factors acting in the culture of breast examinationpersonal and medical examination–consisting in the demographic and social characteristics (age, educational level, professional status, residence environment, educational level of husbands, professional activity of husbands) for the study sample (women) .This study focused on the following problem : What are the demographic and social characteristics acting in the culture of breasts examination for cancer prevention ? Thus, the study raises manysub-questions.

The exploratory descriptive survey method has been adopted because it is the best suited to carry out this study and its procedures.

As for the study sample, it consists of 504 married women who were intentionally selected.

To collect the data of this study, a form was designed and applied for use in this study.

For the statistical treatment of data, the statistical software SPSS (version 20) has been adopted.

The results are as follows: • The presence of a large proportion of women who do breast personal examination for cancer prevention compared with women who do breast medical examination.

• There is a positive relationship between personal and medical examination, on the one hand, and age, on the other hand; it rises from 20 years old and 30 years old respectively.

• Women’s educational level does not affect the breast personal and medical examination cancer prevention.

• For the factor of women’s professional status, it is not an important factor in breast examination while it is an important factor in the women's medical examination for breast cancer prevention.

• Women’s residence environment is an important factor in the breast personal and medical examination.

• Husband’s educational level is an important factor in the breast personal and medical examination for cancer prevention.

• Husband’s professional activity is very important in the breast personal examination for cancer prevention.

As for the factor of husband’s professional activity, it is less important in the breast medical examination.
