This article spots the lights on the prehistoric funerary monuments in North Africa through the archeological and architectural study of the Numidian Royal Mausoleum Medracen.
The question asked is how can funeral architecture be useful in understanding ancestral societies? Despite the fact that these monuments occupy an important part in the archeological heritage map of Algeria, the majority are facing the danger of oblivion and disappearance.
Therefore, it is crucial to study it, to document it, and to make sure that it is used to ensure continuity between the past, the present and the future.
To achieve our goals, we will take a historic approach.
As well as mobilizing tools such as observation, for the analysis of data, which is essentially the archeological collections, and historical stories.

Le présent article s’intéresse aux monuments funéraires préhistoriques en Afrique du Nord, à travers l’étude archéohistorique et architecturale du mausolée royal numide Medracen.
La question posée est comment l’architecture funéraire peut-être utile dans la compréhension des sociétés ancestrales ? Malgré la partie importante qu’occupent ces monuments dans la carte patrimoniale archéologique de l’Algérie, la majorité se voit affrontée à la l’oubli et la disparition.
Il est important de l’étudier, de le documenter et de veiller à sa valorisation pour permettre une continuité entre passé, présent et avenir.
Afin d’atteindre nos objectifs, nous adopterons une approche historique.
Ainsi que des outils mobilisés tel que l’observation, pour l’analyse des données, qui sont essentiellement les recueils d’archéologie et les récits historiques
