English Abstract

This study aimed at documenting some historical aspects of the Levant through numismatics, which is a source of historiography.

This is in addition to studying these aspects in a methodical and historical way that employs the features of describing, analyzing, criticizing, and documenting.

The study relied on numismatics as a source of historiography by reviewing several official and private coin collections, studying and analyzing them.

The researcher adopted the analytical historical approach of coins that had been circulated among the inhabitants of the Levant, and then supported the gained information by historical references and sources.

The study concluded with several results including the dissemination of some coin models in the Levant that have never been circulated before, the documentation of some historical events that never mentioned in history books, and the collection of a vast group of pictured models of coins from the Levant in the two eras of the study.

After concluding this study, readers will have a comprehensive idea regarding coins existed in the Levant during Alayoubi and Almamlouki Islamic eras along with their known models.

This is in addition to a complete transcription of their epigraphs and an ample illustration and analysis of these coins and their symbols.

Readers will be also informed with the historical events extracted from studying coins, with an overview of life during those eras including political, social, economic, religious, artistic and ornamental aspects.

Readers will have a general knowledge of coins significance in studying history.
