This research dealt with US-Bulgarian relations 1945-1950.

US representatives sought to secure interests in Bulgaria by securing international conventions.

In particular the declaration on the liberation of Europe in 1945 as well as announcing the Treaty of Peace with Bulgaria in 1947 to ensure the implementation of democratic and liberal principles in the economic and internal spheres.

But the leadership’s monopoly on Soviet influence and the power of communists in Bulgaria from mid-1947 to 1950 led to an intensification of the confrontation between Sofia and Washington.

Reducing US presence and opportunities in Bulgaria, having become within Soviet influence.
