Abstract EN

The term of (adherents of prophetic traditions \ Hadith) had changed semantically through years.

It was developed from a-term that had been used to describe those who practiced the science of Hadith to a notional term that described a group of scientists and their followers who had their own approach for texts, specially similar texts, which dealt with concepts like names, adjectives, destiny, incapability and choices ( free will ).

Adherents of Hadith had a significant role, as represents of Sunnis, to preserve the accurate comprehension of these texts against (dogmatic parties) that intruded the Islamic World in the the beginning of the 2nd Hegira century.

These parties emerged due to several facts such as: the expansion of the Islamic Caliphate region, encountering between the Muslims and other religions, translation of philosophy as well as the cultural diversity within the Islamic world, all these facts led to the birth of this term in its notional meaning as well as gaining eligibility through time.

This research observes the time period and the reasons which led to the semantically development of the term of adherents of Hadith
