Although Baghdad took control of the Mongols in 656 A.H.

/ 1258 C.E, this did not prevent the emergence of a number of scholars and intellectuals who played a major role in enriching the Islamic civilization.

During the difficult period of the Islamic world, a number of scholars and thinkers appeared among them, Qutb al-Din Shirazi (634-710 AH / 1236-1311), who enriched the Islamic library with varied and rich sciences.

Science, astronomy, logic, mathematics, medicine, literature, science, interpretation, literature and poetry.

In spite of the destruction and devastation of the Abbasid Caliphate, he contacted the Mongols and their sultans and played a major role in establishing the Maragha Observatory with his teacher Nasiruddin Tusi during the reign of Hulaku.
