Abdelhamid Benhedouga's novel "Vent du sud" is one of the most mature Algerian novels according to literary criticism, not only on a technical level, but also on the objective level, because it has approached with brilliance “the feminine symbolism”.

Indeed, the woman in this work is the symbol of the nurturing land with which the Algerian is linked, and it is also the symbol of the mother country who expects his sons to be freed from the feudal system left by French colonization.

In this paper, we try to determine the extent to which there is a correspondence between the events described in the text of the novel and theevents exhibited in the cinematographic work, in other words, is the film impregnated by the spirit of the novel, That is to say the novel managed to impose its hegemony on the film? Or, conversely, the film is out-text?.
