English Abstract

Despite the fact of being a Sahara, the scientific journeys of Tuat, in the South of Algeria, towards the African Coast have played a significant role in enriching the cultural life in the African regions during the Modern Era.

Tuat was the main western road which facilitated the connection between the South and the North mainly after the problems that Sajlamassa was facing at the early of the Modern Era.

The political disorders and the spread of muggers along the way towards region of Sudan were the problems that Sejlamassa faced.

The safe road of Tuat has given this region of the Algerian South a considerable status.

This research paper aims at spotting the light on the scientific journeys of Tuat and the role of scholars, either as individuals or as tribes, who left their traces in the Western Sudan.
