The aim of this study is to identify the relationship between self-confidence and the degree of optimism of students who are about to graduate Sciences and Techniques of physical and sports activities Institute-Bouira University by identifying the level of self-confidence and optimism.

The researchers chose a simple random sample consisting of (60 students), of the study population of the second year students Master all specialties in the Institute of Science and Techniques of physical activities and sports at the University of Bouira for the University’s 2018-2017, the number of (131) students.

The descriptive approach was used in this study which is the appropriate approach for the nature of the study and as research instrument the researchers used both the self-confidence scale and the optimism scale a various statistical methods were used to verify the hypotheses of the study such as percentage, arithmetic average, Standard Hrav, Pearson correlation coefficient.

The following conclusions have been reached: 1) The level of self-confidence degree was average among most of the students about to graduate, albeit varying degrees and varying between the weak and the middle and high, and this also shows in different dimensions of the scale as well.

2) The level of optimism was average among most students on the verge of graduation, albeit at varying degrees and differences between low, medium and high.

3) There is a statistically significant relationship between self-confidence and the degree of optimism, and it appears in all dimensions of the scale (language fluency, independency, physiological dimension, psychological dimension, social dimension, academic dimension) of the students who are about to graduate.

It is therefore possible to say that self-confidence is related to the development of optimism among university students and especially those who are graduating from them, which contribute to moving forward towards success in their scientific and practical journey.

In the light of the findings of the study, the researchers provide a set of recommendations as follows: 1) Disseminate the current study on a larger sample to include the various students in addition to conducting the study at the level of other institutes at the university.

2) Focus on the psychological aspects of students of science and technology of physical and sports activities in addition to the cognitive and physical aspects.

3) Working to focus on the various activities and programs that enhance the level of self-confidence of the university student as the main factor for success.

4) Organizing seminars, forums and programs for optimism to change the students' pessimistic view of life.

5) The need to take care of psychological counseling through the availability of a psychologist to guide students and help them to create a positive image of themselves and their future.

6) Designing instructional programs and conducting studies similar to the different psychological characteristics of university students at all levels.

Abstract FRE

Cette étude vise à savoir la relation entre la confiance en soi et l'optimisme chez les étudiants en Fin de Cycle à l'Institut des Sciences et Techniques des Activités Physiques et Sportives au sein de l’université de Bouira.

Pour identifier le niveau de confiance en soi et le degré d'optimisme, les chercheurs ont choisissait un échantillon aléatoire simple composé de 60 étudiants, la méthode descriptive a été utilisé comme outil de recherche, les chercheurs ont utilisé l’échelle de confiance en soi et l’échelle d'optimisme.

Les résultats de recherche montrent clairement que: 1) Le niveau de la confiance en soi était moyenne chez la majorité des étudiants en Fin de Cycle.

2) Le niveau d'optimisme était moyenne pour la plupart des étudiants en Fin de Cycle.

3) L'étude a également montré qu'il existe une relation statistiquement significative entre la confiance en soi et l'optimisme, et qu'elle apparaît dans toutes les dimensions (fluidité de la langue, autonomie, la dimension physiologique, la dimension psychologique, la dimension sociale, dimension académique) à la lumière des résultats obtenus.

Les chercheurs recommandent de se concentrer sur les aspects psychologiques des étudiants en sciences et techniques des activités physiques et sportives, ainsi que les aspects cognitifs et physiques, et de travailler à prêter attention aux différentes activités et des programmes qui améliorent le niveau de la confiance en soi de l’étudiant comme étant le principal facteur de la réussite.
