Figures of Thought are not, despite what some researchers have said, only used to beautify the poem.

Many of great Arab poets attended to these figures very much and tried to make figures of thought and use them.

Figures of Thought are the necessary element of any poem; i.e.

if something doesn’t have figures of thought, it is not a poem and will have limited impact on its recipients and can’t excite them.

A figure of thought is a tool both to beautify the poem and to let the poet explain his sentiments.

Figures of thought are structures which are employed by the poet to explain the meaning he has inwards.

Amal Donghol, the poet, is one of the poets who have extraordinary capability to create figures of thought in their odes.

One of his odes named Al-khoyoul had a great echo because it has figures of thought and instruments.

Speculation makes it clear that these figures are symbols which are pointing to the Arab greatness era, brilliant Islamic conquests and their nowadays lack of progress.

These three themes are new subjects which are said by using figures of thought and instruments.

The method of this study is descriptive- analytic.
