Abstract EN

The research aims to develop a proposal to develop the performance of Yemeni universities in the light of the knowledge economy, as well as to identify the opinions of academic leaders (deans and their deputies, and heads of departments) at the University of Sana'a about the degree of importance of the knowledge economy areas in Yemeni Universities'.

To achieve the objectives of the research, the descriptive methodology was adopted, The research sample was 157 academic Leaders.

A questionnaire composed of four key areas, and (74) items was developed.

The research results showed: I.

The research sample rated the importance of knowledge economy areas for Yemeni Universities' as very high.

The research sample also rated the performance of knowledge economy areas at Sana'a University as very lowr.

There are no statistical significant differences between the responses of the research sample due to the variables (academic ranking, position, experience) both in terms of degree of importance or degree of implementation.
