The study deals with the strategic importance of the city of Ahwaz (geopolitical study) in the center of Khuzestan province of Iran, in order to study the strategic location of the city and its impact on the security and stability of the southwestern regions of Iran.
One of the most prominent results of the study is that the city has political and economic weight in Iran because of the energy sources nearby, as well as existence of Arab majority who were demanding their national rights motivates the Iranian government to be worry about it which might open the way for external interventions.
The Iranian government has to supports the stability of the city and grant more national rights for the Arabs as well as develop programs and plans to improve the city in all political, economic and social fields in addition to increase the size of their effect on Iranian decision-making.
