Many countries of the world have worked on the development of information and communication technology.

Algeria is one of them.

Efforts have been made to develop this sector by extending telecommunications networks and opening up the investment and competition market.

This paper attempts to highlight the reality of information and communication technology in Algeria in the light of a set of indicators, namely fixed and mobile, the Internet, through two phases from 1962- 1989 and 1989-2015.

In response to this problem, the conceptual framework for information and communication technology will then be defined, then the ICT indicators will be analyzed in Algeria.

Finally, we will refer to the obstacles of information and communication technology in Algeria, Finally, the paper concludes that Algeria, despite its efforts to develop information and communication technology, is still lagging behind in this area, with obstacles such as poor infrastructure and the lack of qualified people that have prevented it from developing it.
