Abstract EN

This study is an attempt to assess the current size of the gender gap by measuring the extent to which women in north Africa countries have achieved equality with men in political empowerment, Countries that do not capitalize on the full potential of one half of their societies are misallocating their human resources and undermining their competitive potential.

The study focused on Algerian and Tunisian experience in this area, especially the participation of women in politics and decision-making.

Therefore, its findings proposed as a conclusion that the position of women needed building a more understanding of the status, obstacles, challenges and opportunities for his leadership and their participation in politics and decision-making at the local and national levels.
