The so-called "Arab Spring" has been interpreted from a part of the academic community as a late wave of democratization that has just arrived after the fall of the USSR.

Others qualify the situation as a fourth wave of democratization, but there are those who consider that what is happening in the Arab countries since the end of 2010 is a situation of creative anarchy, so it’s a part of the Middle East plan aiming to divide the area in the interest of the Israel.

Because what happens in some Arab countries is not comparable to what happened in the Eastern European countries as neither the conditions nor the consequences, even the role of the international actors aren’t the same.

And our choice of the model of Syria is only to clarify the nature of what is happening in the region, where the process of political transition in Syria does not concern only Syrians alone, but many international actors with strategic interests in the region
