التغطية الإخبارية للانتخابات الرئاسية المصرية 2012 : دراسة مقارنة بين موقعي "الجزيرة الانجليزية" و "بي بي سي عربي"

Abstract EN

Media technology has a great role and it participated in evolving what we call news websites what distinguished it from other types of media ,and turns it to a vivid realm for the study of news coverage of the Egyptian presidential elections during 2012 via “Aljazeera English” web site and “BBC Arabic” web site.

This study aims to reach and achieve the goals of identifying and comparing between different topics that were treated by those sites during election stages of the second round of elections without forgetting the comparison between the shapes and the sources of information that both sites rely on for their coverage.

As a result we found that “Aljazeera English” web site has a hidden agenda that seeks to make Egypt as a model of successful revolution since it succeeded in overthrowing The old president “Houssni Moubarek” and re-elected a new president, as a hidden invitation for other peoples to do the same thing .It is not the same case with the “BBC Arabic” web site for its aim was to seek for the respect of basic human rights and fundamental freedoms.

For the form there is a similarity between both sites in press types, models and links and this is due to professional background of “Aljazeera English” web site workers who had been formed by the “BBC”, that’s why we can find the touch of British media in the works of “Aljazeera English”.
