Abstract EN

This research involves the study of ( the variety of the formal patterns in the potteries of the ancient Iraqi civilisations), and consists of four chapters, the first one focuses on the problem of the research or its importance and the need for such a study as well as the target of the study and its limits, with the definition for the essential terms.

The problem of the research shed light on the variety of formal modes in the potteries of the ancient Iraqi civilisations, for the shape expresses with what it holds of different patterns that seem attached to the meaning of creating the idea, according to the level of expression and the variation of visual styles in accomplishing these works.

The ancient outputs of the potteries were representing a pure expression of the visual images that performed on the surfaces, because the shape is the actual image which expresses the esthetic attitude and involves the induction of the content through the modes of forms in the ancient pottery works out of here rose the problem of the current research by answering the following two questions: 1- What are the analytic approaches that pushed the old artist to try to show the variety of shape patterns in the pottery works? 2- If the nature of the patterns variety connect to intellectual data that forcing into crystalise a full methodological vision, so what are the constructional substantial that achieve the nature of the variety? The first chapter also involved the aim of the research, which implies the reveal of the variety of pattern shapes in the ancient pottery of Iraqi civilisation, it included as well the limits of the research and most important terms.

While the second chapter involved the theoretical framework and the old studies, which consists of two topics the first discusses the shape between the conceptual and visual given data, while the second involved the pattern shapes in the ancient pottery of the civilisation.

The third chapter involved the procedures of the research: … … choosing of the research three samples (pottery shapes).

The fourth chapter included the result of the study, conclusions, recommendations and suggestions; the most important results came out of the researcher: …..
