Abstract EN

According to the modern doctrinal classification of the rights and freedoms, the freedom of expression is considered one of the intellectual liberties, since it is a right related to its human nature without which he cannot live.

In international law, this freedom has been enshrined in conventions and treaties, and this is intended to guarantee the right to hold opinions and express them freely.

It is still consecrated in the constitutions of the States including the Omani one.

That being said, the question arose as to how much this freedom, as consecrated in the Omani constitution, is in harmony with the international criteria in this area of freedom.

In other words, it is necessary to know if it is a limited freedom or a total freedom? Did the Omani legislature provides it with guarantees to protect it? The purpose of this study is to provide an answer to all of these questions.
