Abstract EN

The objective of the field study was to identify the effect of the use of social networks on academic achievement in the department of Libraries and Information at the Faculty of Arts, Imam Abdul Rahman bin Faisal University.

Data were collected and analyzed to show that 86.8 % of female students use social network while 13.2 % of the sample does not use them.

It was also revealed by the results of the study that 54.6 % of the sample found that the social network contributed to raising the rates of female students in their specialization.

The results of the study showed that obstacles to the use of social networks caused technological reasons buy 35 %.

The study concluded several recommendations, such as activating the use of electronic networks in the educational process to raise final rates
