Poverty is a social phenomenon, which has resulted in devastating social and economic consequences.

The phenomenon of poverty is different in terms of different environments.

Therefore, poverty has a relative significance in different circumstances.

Poets and writers always seek to reflect social problems.

Poverty is therefore the root of all social problems.

This research attempts to shed light on the poetry of the contemporary Iraqi poet Abdulwahab al-Bayati, who is considered one of the prominent social poets of the present age, not only in Iraq, but in all Arab and international peoples.

This study seeks to show the manifestations of social poverty in the poetry of this Iraqi poet, and the reasons and motives of this phenomenon have emerged in the poetry of Abdul Wahab al-Bayati.

This study concluded that Abdulwahab al-Bayati is one of the most prominent social poets of the present age.

Poverty and ignorance are the root of all problems in society.

He is one of the poets who dealt with social issues - especially poverty - in particular.
