Gray areas are very ambiguous situations in terms of security and law as they take place in circumstances of chaos and extreme violence.

They are characterized by the absence of the authority of law, the excessive and abusive use of power in a way that negatively affects the situation of human rights.

This situation threatens national security, which is closely linked to international security.

This applies to the implementation of international law regarding issues that outdo the exclusive jurisdiction of the state as long as they breach the interests protected by international community.

It is therefore concerned with the protection of human rights and international peace and security.

To this end, we shall apply conflict prevention mechanisms based on preventive diplomacy and peacemaking techniques in the context of international crisis management.
