Abstract EN

The aim of the study is to monitor the current reality of Arab children's literature in light of the spread of technological alternatives to the worlds of the child and to identify the open source digital repository systems to build and manage digital collections and to highlight the most appropriate system for the management of Arabic children's literature.

The study seeks to present a suggested proposal for building a digital repository specialized in Arab children literature to meet the growing Informatics Needs of the Arabic child.

The study depended on the analytical field method .

The researcher started a survey of the subject repositories for children's literature available on the World Wide Web to reach the most prominent models of these repositories in order to describe, analyze and evaluate their content in light of the standards and principles proposed by the National Information Standards Organization (NISO) to build Good digital collections.

The study concluded the importance of the pioneering role of digital technology and digital repositories in access to intellectual production of the Arab child.

The study suggested a set of recommendations if the publishing administrators of the children's literature are able to perform them optimally, they will have an active role in disseminating targeted information and fully access to knowledge for children
