Abstract EN

The current research aims to know the effectiveness of teaching geographical subjects using conceptual maps and mental maps in the achievement of fourth grade students literary, where the sample of the research consisted of (95) students of the fourth grade literary in the preparatory (Al-Nahrin) for the education of Baghdad Al-Karkh / II / in Baghdad for the academic year (2017-2018).

Students were divided among three equal groups in the previous academic achievement variables in geography and previous knowledge test and time age calculated in months by looking at the school card and testing the level of intelligence.

The first experimental group studied using the concept maps, and the second experimental group studied using the mental maps, and studied the third traditional group using the traditional method and requested to achieve the goal of research preparing a posteriori achievement test,the researcher prepared a multi-choice test consisting of (40) paragraphs, and the test map specifications table was prepared for the six levels of knowledge area of the Bloom classification (knowledge, understanding, application, analysis, evaluation, composition).
