Abstract EN

This article explores the June 24 presidential and parliamentary elections and its importance in Turkish political life.

The June 24 election is the turning point in Turkish politics because of two reasons.

Firstly.

Turkey de facto switched to presidential system approved in April 16 referendum after these elections.

Secondly.

pre-electoral coalition system enabling political parties to form legal alliances was implemented for the first time in these elections.

Thus.

this study analyzes the importance of June 24 elections with regard to presidential system and pre-electoral coalitions.

In accordance with this purpose.

both presidential system and pre-electoral coalitions are analyzed in detail.

Lastly.

ongoing issues after the elections are examined.
